Our History

Our founders developed our industry-leading solution in 1997 to alleviate elevator awkwardness, enable property managers to more effectively communicate with tenants, and give ad agencies better access to valuable audiences in a captive environment.

Commercial property owners quickly saw the benefit, and by 2000, over 1,000 Captivate screens were installed in elevators in premier office towers across North America. In 2014, we acquired the Wall Street Journal Office Network to become the largest office media network, extending our screen network to building lobbies to build continuous interaction.

But we didn’t stop there. Captivate has always been on mission to build a better viewer experience and give brands access to valuable audience attention. In the past few years, we have expanded beyond office buildings to multifamily and student housing properties.
